resize picture with picnik for Rhizome

  • Go to http://www.picnik.com/ and click on "Get Started"
  • Click on "Upload a photo" on the top left, and upload an image from your computer
  • If you're image is large, I'd probably resize it first
  1. Click on the "Resize" button the menu bar
  2. Make sure "Use proportions" is checked
  3. Change the width (the first box) to 405 and click OK.
  • Now, you should crop your image.
  1. Click on the "Crop" button the menu bar
  2. Make sure "Scale photo" is checked
  3. Draw your crop tool window (the gridded window on top of your image) to the top-leftmost part of your image.
  4. Type in 405 in the first box and 170 in the second box by "Actual size"
  5. Look at your image with the crop tool and make sure it is place over the part of the image you want cropped.
  6. Take one last look to make sure the boxes still say 405 x 170 and then click OK.
  • If you are not satisfied with the image, click on Undo (the top right button) and repeat resizing or cropping again.
  • If you want to save your image, click on the "Save-Share" tab at the top right (you can't be in Crop or Scale mode when you want to save an image).
  • Change the format to GIF and save it to your computer.
