Watch Your Step!

Alexis SMagula

1 Cerveza Box, 1 Yalie mug, assorted notepads and binders, plastic ziplock bag containing 1 global world map, 1 personal letter and 1 comic book strip.

'Genealogy is the method by which we discover and restore these worn and broken threads of time'.

My understanding of my estranged brother has always been one of curious absence. Watch your Step involves assemblage and found objects. This piece is very influenced by the ideas of narrative, both linear and non linear that I have brought from my family background. It will ultimately create a dialectical landscape that is fully post-modern in its abstraction and it is therefore more of a fragmented vision than an existing territory. Whatever ''that'' means.
