Vincent Price (May 27, 1911 - October 25, 1993)

Vincent Price was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied art history and fine art at Yale University and went on to begin his acting career on stage in 1930. He appeared in several films, beginning in the late 1930s and early 1940s, at the same time maintaining a strong presence in radio dramas. It was not until the 1960s and 1970s that Price became the renowned figure of the B-Horror Movie that secured his place in film history. Price died from lung cancer on October 25, 1993, and was buried in the Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis Missouri.

Price first came under FBI surveillance during his early days in the theater. Though the surveillance of Price from this time was minimal, he remained on the FBI radar and during the McCarthy era came under surveillant scrutiny (though he was never asked to testify) as a result of his involvement in several Socialist-leaning organizations and his associations with various European and Soviet actors and directors. After this period Price was continually the subject of surveillance, be it "cold" or almost dormant at times, that lasted through the 1960s when he came under closer attention for his relationship with certain movements in the Radical Left.

Though the FBI Freedom of Information Act website indicates that there are pages of accessible surveillance files, the link is a dead-end leading to no files at all. Price's files, though technically public record because of their date and his death, are not made readily available to the public. I was able to obtain these files through a source that I cannot name.

OpenClosed-Circuit Surveillance

Because of his fame in the world of the occult and pseudo-occult, Vincent Price's grave has repeatedly become the site of "Satanic," occult, and magical rituals. Though The Estate of Vincent Price is vocal about their embrace of his legacy and the commitment of his fans, they have firmly denounced any such rituals enacted on the site of his burial. As a result, the site was outfitted with closed-circuit surveillance cameras. Through the help of the staff at the Valhalla Cemetery and their director of technology, Nicholas Medina, I was able to gain access to the cemetery's closed-circuit feed, which they have kindly made available as a direct-feed over the internet. As per my agreement with the Valahalla Cemetery, I cannot make the feed accessible to the public.
